Practicing law since 2005, Katie Goodson
represents business clients across various industries in land use,
zoning and planning issues; alcoholic beverage licensing and related
enforcement issues, regulated industries, and commercial litigation.
Katie is a member of the Taylor Porter alcoholic beverage licensing and
related enforcement issues practice and represents national and local
companies in the hospitality industry, including restaurants, hotels and
retail stores, with an emphasis in alcoholic beverage licensing,
compliance and enforcement issues. She also represents alcohol
manufacturers. ?Katie works with numerous regulatory and administrative
bodies across the state, including the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco
Control, the Department of Revenue, Departments of Public Works, and
Planning Commissions. Her regulatory work with the ATC encompasses all
phases of alcohol and tobacco licensing compliance.
Through her land use practice, Katie works
with clients in land use transactions, government approvals, and
litigation related to use of real property, and obtaining zoning
approvals and entitlements, and also negotiating tax incentive and
similar agreements for relocations, developments and improvements
related to corporate office, retail, mixed-use and industrial projects.
Katie was selected by her peers in Best Lawyers in America® (2020) in Commercial Litigation. In 2013, Katie was selected by the Baton Rouge Business Report as
one of Baton Rouge’s “Top Forty Under 40” community and business
leaders, and in 2015, she received the Mary Frey Eaton Community Service
Award. In the community, Katie has chaired two
consecutive gala fundraisers for Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and
Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge. Katie is a member of First
United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge, where she serves as a board
member of the HYPE After School Program. Katie also has served on
various councils within the Church, and teaches Sunday school to the
incoming confirmation class. Katie currently volunteers at University
Laboratory School, and is a board member of the University Laboratory
School Foundation. She formerly served as Executive Committee member of
the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Advisory Committee member of BREC,
committee member for the Women’s Hospital Annual Giving Campaign, and as
past President of the Baton Rouge Chi Omega Alumnae Association. She
has volunteered with Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, LASM, and
the Baton Rouge Bar Association, having served as the firm coordinator
of its various programs.
