Kari Prochaska focuses her practice on corporate due diligence, data privacy and complex civil litigation. She has extensive transactional experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganization, real estate portfolio acquisition and post-closing support in the health care and life sciences, intellectual property, manufacturing, technology, finance and media industries.
Kari has significant experience managing electronic discovery projects and counsels clients on document preservation and collection, data privacy issues related to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance, early case assessment, technology-assisted review and the use of analytics. She has a wide range of experience in the areas of federal health care investigations, patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, antitrust investigations, shareholder derivative suits, internal investigations and audits, product liability defense and pharmaceutical litigation. Kari is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
As part of her pro bono practice, Kari has drafted executive clemency petitions, Certificates of Good Conduct and power of attorney documents. She has assisted clients in receiving protection from removal under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
