Joe Dreesen is a Shareholder in the Omaha, Nebraska office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Prior to his joining the Firm, Mr. Dreesen was a partner in Berens & Tate, PC, LLO for approximately 25 years. Mr. Dreesen works with a number of employers throughout the country on numerous employment and labor law issues. Mr. Dreesen has successfully negotiated numerous collective bargaining agreements, and advised clients in obtaining successful results in union organizing efforts. He also has an extensive OSHA and wage and hour practice.
Among his published articles, Mr. Dreesen is the Co-Author of "Is Employment-At-Will Alive and Well in Nebraska?" Creighton Law Review, Vol. 21, No. 2 (1987-88). He also has been published in numerous magazines and trade publications. He has received an "AV" top rating by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, and is listed in the Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers. He is also a Member of the American, Nebraska (Labor & Employment Law Section), Minnesota (Labor Law Section), South Dakota, and the Omaha Bar Associations. Mr. Dreesen is certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association as a Labor and Employment Law Specialist.
Mr. Dreesen is admitted to practice in the states of Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota, as well as in the U.S. District Court, District of Nebraska; the U.S. District Court of Minnesota, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fourth, Eighth, and Ninth Circuits; and the District of Columbia Circuit Court.Mr. Dreesen earned his J.D., cum laude, in 1980, from the University of Minnesota; and his B.A. with distinction in 1977, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
