John Snyder serves as managing partner of the Kansas City office, where he assumed that role on February 1, 2010. He also chairs the legacy Real Estate practice in that office and serves on the global sub-committee for real estate development. John handles all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including retail, office, industrial and commercial leasing, build-to-suit lease transactions, financings and loan transactions, complex real estate developments (including mixed-use, office, industrial, retail and multi-family), economic incentives, land use and entitlements and loan workouts and distressed asset restructurings.
He works extensively with companies on a variety of real estate transactions, including recent representation of Fortune 10 public company on an 800,000 square foot distribution facility and a Fortune 20 public company on a sortation center in Salt Lake City. John regularly represents clients on some of the most complex real estate projects in the region, including $100,000+ million sale of a mixed-use retail, office and multi-family project in the Kansas City area, $100,000+ million hotel and office headquarter project near the County Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri and $100 million corporate headquarter project for a global engineering firm.
John represents a variety of local and national banks and other lending institutions on loan transactions throughout the county in connection with construction, interim and permanent financing. In addition, he works extensively with loan servicers, financial institutions and banks on loan workouts, assumptions, foreclosures, receiverships, modifications, commercial litigation and a range of complex creative restructurings. He has substantial experience in handling commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) real estate loans.
John represents various developers for projects throughout the United States. Such representation includes office, industrial, retail, multifamily, residential and mixed-use developments. His role in such projects includes land acquisition, rezoning, economic incentives (such as tax increment financings and tax abatements), development and leasing for build-to-suit transactions, and office and industrial parks and shopping centers. He also handles landlord and tenant representation for commercial, industrial, office and retail leases. John has an active development, economic incentive and land use practice. John has worked on a number of complex high-profile real estate development projects in the region.
