John is a partner in the Charlotte office and has extensive commercial litigation and class action experience. He has handled many cases involving complex financial products, consumer financial products and commercial disputes. In addition to handling single party disputes in federal and state courts, he has led teams of lawyers that have managed numerous class actions on behalf of financial institutions and other clients. With over 25 years of experience, the cases that he has handled range from theft of trade secrets, to technical financing issues arising under the Uniform Commercial Code, to stakeholder disputes of both private and public companies, to lender liability claims, to consumer fraud and commercial contract cases, to claims arising under the Communications Act of 1934. John also regularly represents secured and unsecured lenders and creditors in all phases of the restructuring process, including litigation arising out of the bankruptcy process. He also has extensive experience conducting internal investigations and managing corporate responses to government investigations of the banking industry.
