James Austin is a partner at Austin & Ferguson, L.L.C., a law firm exclusively practicing Immigration & Nationality law. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor in Immigration Law at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and was the 2010 recipient of the Elmer Fried Excellence in Teaching Immigration Law Award.
Mr. Austin is a frequent speaker at immigration conferences and is actively involved with the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Immigration Law arm of the American Bar Association, where he has chaired several national committees including the USCIS Ombudsman Committee, the National Benefit Center Liaison Committee and the Paralegal Certification Task Force.
