James J. Richards has practiced law in Massachusetts for over 25 years. His practice is focused on complex business matters both in and out of Court. Following a judicial clerkship in the Massachusetts Trial Court, Mr. Richards entered private practice and earned partnerships in two prominent Massachusetts firms before forming his own firm. His practice focused on litigating complex cases in the Probate, Superior and District Courts and Massachusetts appellate courts. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Richards worked in software development, and throughout his legal career has continued that work, advising business clients. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Richards operates a software company for whom he served as outside counsel for many years. Mr. Richards has served as an adjunct professor at the law school and college levels and a panelist on continuing legal education programs has written for legal publications and law reviews. Mr. Richards has been appointed to several committees and boards by the Massachusetts Trial Court, bar associations, and the Board of Bar Overseers.
