Casey Pipes graduated in 1993 from Washington & Lee University (B.A.) and in 1996 from the University of Alabama School of Law (J.D. cum laude). Casey has been at the same law firm his entire career and is now a shareholder in the firm.
Casey has been the city attorney for a local municipality for many years while also developing an active real estate, land use, and general civil litigation practice. Casey is most active in the field of eminent domain and land valuation litigation. Casey represents landowners throughout the state of Alabama in condemnation actions, and he also has experience representing condemning agencies. Casey is a frequent speaker at local and national continuing legal education seminars in the field of eminent domain, and he has published several articles on this subject.
Casey is the current Chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Real Property, Trust and Estate (RPTE) Section's Condemnation Committee, and he is the former Chair of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation’s Condemnation, Zoning and Land Use Committee. In 2013 Casey was admitted as a member of the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) which is a relatively small group of real estate professionals from around the world. Casey is also an active member of the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) and he regularly publishes legal update articles in the monthly newsletter for his local chapter. Casey is also a member of the Alabama Association of Municipal Attorneys.
