Firm
Lindner & Marsack, S.C.
Gary A. Marsack is chairman of the Board of Directors and a senior shareholder of the Milwaukee-based law firm of Lindner & Marsack, S.C. Mr. Marsack has practiced exclusively in the area of labor and employment law since his graduation from law school.
Mr. Marsack was trial counsel to the National Labor Relations Board, Region 7, in Detroit, Michigan from 1968–1971. He was responsible for the litigation of complex, unfair labor practice matters before administrative law judges and the NLRB. He was also responsible for injunction proceedings in federal district court.
He joined the Detroit law firm of Clark, Hardy, Lewis and Fine in 1971. Mr. Marsack primarily represented school boards in suburban school districts outside the city of Detroit while practicing there. The majority of his work consisted of collective bargaining on behalf of the districts, providing labor strategies and representation in arbitration proceedings.
In 1972, Mr. Marsack served as primary counsel to the Pontiac, Michigan School Board in all labor matters arising out of the desegregation of the school system.
Mr. Marsack joined the firm of Peck, Brigden, Lindner, Petajan and Peck, the predecessor to Lindner & Marsack, S.C., in 1973. A substantial part of his legal work with the firm has involved the representation of national clients in all phases of traditional labor law.
In this capacity, he has been a vital consultant to clients on a roster of employment law issues:
Collective bargaining and strategies
Employee communication campaigns
General labor matters
Contract administration
Plant closings
Third-party outsourcing
Consolidations
Work relocations
Transfers and subcontracting
Mr. Marsack also represents clients in the litigation of complex labor issues in arbitration, before state and federal agencies, and before state and federal courts.
Venture capital groups, other law firms and major accounting firms have sought Mr. Marsack out to assist their clients. These groups have deferred to his experience in different aspects of labor law and the issues that arise after employers make such entrepreneurial decisions:
Mergers
Acquisitions
Consolidations
Corporate downsizing
Mr. Marsack writes and lectures extensively on labor law issues. These include collective bargaining trends, developments before the National Labor Relations Board, benefits issues and discrimination matters.
