Frank Macgill is the managing partner of HunterMaclean and practices in the areas of
trusts and estates,
taxation, and
corporate law. He has experience in estate planning; trust and estate administration; federal, state, and local tax issues; and tax matters affecting nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations.
Frank is admitted to practice in the Superior Court of Chatham County and U.S. Tax Court. He is a member of the Savannah Bar Association and previously served on the executive board of its Younger Lawyers Section. Frank previously served as an interim member of the IRS-Practitioners Liaison Committee (2008) as a representative of the State Bar of Georgia. He is a member and former president (2007-2008) of the Savannah Estate Planning Council and served on the board of directors of the Georgia Academy of Healthcare Attorneys for the 2005-2009 term.
Frank is involved with a number of community and nonprofit organizations. He is currently serving on the board of the Savannah Chamber of Commerce and Savannah Economic Development Association (SEDA). He is on the board of directors for the United Way of the Coastal Empire and sits on the board of directors for Step Up Savannah. He is also a member of the Savannah Benevolent Association.
Frank was selected as one of Savannah’s “40 Under 40 Business Leaders” by the
Savannah Business Report & Journal in 2003 and was named a “Super Lawyer” by
Atlanta Magazine from 2005 to 2013. Every year since 2007, he has been named one of
The Best Lawyers in America. In addition,
Georgia Trend recognized him as a “Legal Elite” for Trusts, Estates & Tax in 2009, 2011, and 2013.
Frank received his B.S. with distinction from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia in 1991 and his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1994. At Georgia, he was a member of the editorial board of the
Georgia Law Review. Following law school, Frank attended New York University where he received his LL.M in Taxation in 1995.
