Emily specializes in real estate and environmental law. Her real estate practice focuses on buying, selling, and leasing commercial real estate, although she also helps businesses, individuals and financial institutions with a variety of other real estate matters. She routinely advises clients regarding environmental compliance and regulatory issues relating to underground storage tanks, waste management, permitting, environmental enforcement, and the investigation, cleanup and regulatory closure of contaminated sites.
With expertise in both real estate and environmental law, Emily is uniquely qualified to represent parties buying, selling, leasing, developing, or financing real estate with environmental challenges. She assists clients with the analysis and mitigation of environmental risks relating to real estate transactions, development, financing and corporate acquisitions; achieving and maintaining cleanup liability protection under Michigan and federal law; and matters relating to access and environmental restrictions.
