Doug Alexander is a founding partner in the Austin office of Alexander Dubose & Townsend, the largest civil appellate law firm in Texas, with offices in Austin, Dallas, and Houston. He is widely regarded as one of the premier advocates specializing in practice before the Supreme Court of Texas. Doug has appeared in numerous proceedings before that Court, both as lead counsel and amicus counsel, and he is a frequent author and speaker on practice before that Court. Clients regularly retain him in high-stakes appellate matters, involving complex issues with substantial amounts in controversy. During his 30-year legal career, Doug has served as Chair of the Appellate Section of the State Bar of Texas; Adjunct Professor of Appellate Advocacy at the University of Texas School of Law; Member of the Civil Appellate Practice Commission of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization; and Law Clerk to the Honorable John R. Brown, former Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Doug has been Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1990.
