Douglas C. Lawrence is a shareholder with the firm of Stokes Lawrence, P.S. in Seattle and Yakima, Washington. Doug's practice focuses on estate planning for high net wealth individuals and families. Doug is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, the past Chair of the Executive Committee of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Section of the Washington State Bar, and a past Chair of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Section of the King County Bar Association. Doug is also a past Treasurer of the Washington State Bar Association, and a former WSBA Governor for the 8th Congressional District. Doug has authored several articles on estate planning and administration matters, and is a frequent lecturer on those subjects. Doug has been actively involved in the drafting and passage of trust and estate related legislation, including the Trust and Estate Dispute Resolution Act of 1999 (“TEDRA”), and the Trust Act of 1984. Doug is also a former adjunct professor of law at the University of Puget Sound School of Law and taught Estate Planning for the JD and LLM in Taxation programs at the University of Washington School of Law
