Diane C. Stanfield
Diane Stanfield’s practice has spanned more than 35 years of commercial, real estate, and financial services litigation in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts. Her practice extends to a variety of real property, banking, and contract disputes, including litigation of eminent domain, land use, commercial leasing disputes, quiet title actions, assignments for the benefit of creditors and receiverships, partnership disputes, and litigation of adversary proceedings in bankruptcy. Her experience includes advising lenders and servicers on the interplay between bankruptcy and regulatory requirements, as well as representation of creditors’ interests in numerous settings. Following the collapse of the housing market, Diane led a nationwide team of attorneys in a review of residential mortgage practices for the independent consultant charged with implementing consent orders between multiple servicers and the OCC or FRB. She also represented the RTC and FSLIC following the S&L collapse in the early 1990s.
Diane has been a volunteer for Public Counsel’s Adoption Project, representing foster parents in the final steps toward the adoption of children in their care. She has served on the Parent Leadership Council for Pitzer College and is also appointed to the California Lawyers Association Business Law Section Insolvency Law Committee.
