Chris Massenburg is a partner based in MG+M's New Orleans, Louisiana, office. His practice primarily focuses on environmental, toxic tort, products liability, commercial trucking and transportation, premises liability, construction defects, and intellectual property litigation. Chris currently serves on the National Trial Team for multiple clients, and has tried cases in Louisiana, California, Texas, Mississippi, New York, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Maryland, Delaware, Washington, and Wyoming. He has defended his clients in numerous cases as lead trial counsel, and has secured multiple zero verdicts by successfully showing juries that his clients did not do anything wrong.
Even when trial is not desired, Chris’s experience at all levels of both simple and complex litigation allows him to provide his clients with a comprehensive defense for their cases. Chris has also been retained by clients to reevaluate their litigation strategies, defend fact, corporate and expert witnesses in deposition and trial, and to step in and try cases at a moment’s notice, even after cases have been pending for some time.
Licensed to practice law in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee, California, New York and Pennsylvania, Chris earned his J.D. in 2000 from Tulane University Law School, and also achieved certification in maritime law. While in law school Chris was a member of the Moot Court Board, winner of the 2000 Phelps Dunbar Senior Trial Competition, winner of the James A. Wysocki Trial Advocacy Award for graduating number one in his class, and winner of the Cicero C. Sessions Award as the highest rated trial advocate in his graduating class. Just four years out of law school, Chris was invited to become an Associate Professor of Trial Advocacy at Tulane. Chris is also a member of the LSU School of Law Trial Advocacy faculty, a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) and is board certified as both a Civil Law Trial and Pretrial Practice Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Chris is AV® Peer and Client Review-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and was selected for inclusion among the 2013-2017 Super Lawyers®. Chris has also been honored as one of the Top Attorneys in Louisiana in Louisiana Life Magazine.
