With over thirty years of experience as a Registered Patent Attorney, Bill has prosecuted hundreds of patent and trademark applications, and he has litigated patent, trademark and copyright matters. As an industrial engineering graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology (a program consistently ranked as the best in the nation) and with a Masters in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, Bill has the education and experience to understand complex patents, trademarks and commercial disputes, and an ability to identify and facilitate solutions.
Killough holds a Martindale-Hubble Preeminent rating, (the highest, formerly referred to as AV), is included in Best Lawyers in the fields of intellectual property litigation and corporate law, and is a contributor to Practical Law Company. He is a Permanent Member of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals Judicial Conference.
With facilitation and mediation in mind, Bill obtained his mediation certification from the South Carolina Supreme Court Arbitrator and Mediator Certification Board, and he received training from the American Arbitration Association, specifically to assist with patent, trademark and intellectual property disputes. Killough is an Adjunct Professor, teaching Patent Law, at theUniversity of South Carolina School of Law in Columbia, South Carolina.
Killough is a Kentucky Colonel, an instrument rated private pilot and a merit badge counselor for Boy Scouts of America Troop 502 of the Isle of Palms, South Carolina.
