Mr. La Rocco is a partner in the Newark, New Jersey office of K&L Gates, responsible for complex litigation with a special emphasis on product liability and construction litigation as well as the exclusive representation of corporate and individual policyholders. He has been retained as an expert witness/consultant in insurance matters and is a frequent speaker on insurance law topics. Mr. La Rocco also regularly litigates complex commercial disputes involving religious institutions. He is also a Knight in the Order of St. Gregory the Great and a member of The Association of Knights and Ladies of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem (Eastern Lieutenancy of the United States).
Insurance Coverage: Mr. La Rocco’s successes in recovering hundreds of millions of dollars for policyholders from insurance companies have involved claims pertaining to numerous types of policies and a variety of areas of insurance coverage, including property damage coverage for environmental site remediation, bodily injury and property damage for construction and manufacturing events, advertising injury and intellectual property coverage for trademark/unfair competition claims, among others.
Construction: Mr. La Rocco represents property owners, developers, and managers, as well as general contractors, in disputes arising from insurance coverage claims, catastrophic accidents, and contract issues. He has been actively involved in the management and trial/appeal of cases in the federal and state courts in New Jersey and New York.
Product Liability: Mr. La Rocco represents corporations involved in products liability matters (both personal injury and property damage), including manufacturers of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, industrial, tobacco and consumer products. He has been actively involved in the management and trial/appeal of cases in the federal and state courts in New Jersey and New York and has substantial experience in multi-party, multi-jurisdiction litigation involving claims arising from exposure to such substances as asbestos and a variety of chemicals and gases.
Toxic Tort: Mr. La Rocco represents chemical and gas manufacturers and distributors, as well as the Chemical Manufacturers Association (as amicus curiae) in toxic tort litigation matters. He also has extensive experience representing some of the nation’s largest biomedical laboratories in connection with pathology/cytology misdiagnosis litigation.
