Mr. Anthony J. Enea, managing member at the law firm Enea, Scanlan & Sirignano, LLP, has spent the past three decades protecting the rights of New York’s senior and disabled populations. Named Westchester County’s Leading Elder Care Attorney at the Above the Bar Awards, Mr. Enea is a past chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Elder Law Section and president of the Westchester County Bar Foundation. His practice areas include elder law; Medicaid asset protection trusts; Medicaid applications (home care and nursing home); special needs planning; guardianships (Article 81 and 17-A); and wills, trusts and estates.
Mr. Enea is president of the Westchester County Bar Foundation and a fellow of the New York State Bar Foundation. He served as a past president of the Westchester County Bar Association and the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Mr. Enea is a member of the Council of Advanced Practitioners of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and is on the Guardianship Advisory Committee of the Office of Court Administration for the State of New York.
Mr. Enea has chaired/lectured several hundred continuing legal education programs and speaks regularly at public and private organizations across the region. He is also the former Editor-in-Chief of the “Elder Law Attorney” of the New York State Bar Association’s Elder Law Section and has contributed extensively to publications for the Westchester County and the New York State Bar Associations.
Mr. Enea has been recognized with numerous peer-review designations including Westchester County’s Top 25 “Super Lawyers,” “Best Lawyer” (Best Lawyers in America, 2011-2019, and is an “AV” Rated Preeminent Attorney* (Martindale-Hubbell, since 2002). He was named Best Lawyers’ 2019 Trusts & Estates “Lawyer of the Year” in White Plains and received the 2014 Golden Harvest Corporate Award from the Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services for outstanding and lasting contributions to Westchester seniors. Mr. Enea received the 2018 Distinguished Service Award from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, the 2016 Honorable Richard J. Daronco Distinguished Service Award from the Columbian Lawyers Association of Westchester County, and was honored with the Dr. Joseph A. Cimino Community Service Award at ArchCare at Home's 2016 Hope Gala.
Mr. Enea is a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation as accredited by the American Bar Association. He graduated from Manhattan College with honors and earned his Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law. Mr. Enea is a member of the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University's Board of Visitors, Somers' Board of Ethics, the Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services, and the Business Development Board of the Hudson Valley Bank.
