Tony has more than 25 years of experience practicing in all matters of litigation, including products liability, insurance bad faith and fraud, professional negligence, personal injury, and class actions.
Tony has been deeply involved in a wide variety of litigation matters. These include liability claims for personal injury or wrongful death arising from diverse products such as all-terrain vehicles where he is Alabama counsel to a major manufacturer, professional negligence claims for doctors, hospitals, lawyers and law firms where they are charged with breaching the applicable standards of care and a mixture of other negligence suits involving trucking, sexual harassment and arson.
Because of his analytical and accounting background, Tony has proven invaluable to publicly traded corporations in class and mass action cases covering insurance companies, banks, REITS and other major entities. He has significant experience in representing insurance companies and banks when they and their agents have been sued for misrepresentation, suppression, fraud, breach of contract and bad faith. In addition, Tony has been involved in numerous cases representing officers and directors or their companies in securities litigation both in state and federal courts.
One unusual and unique parts of Tony’s successful law practice has been his retention in complex and highly technical matters where excess, actuarial and reinsurance questions were at issue involving millions of dollars.
In addition to his litigation practice, Tony is registered on the Alabama State Court Mediator and Arbitrator Rosters having completed the Alabama Supreme Court’s Special Appellate Mediation Course in 2005. An accomplished and persuasive writer, Tony has authored numerous motions and briefs over the years which have led to successful outcomes on the part of his clients.
