Andre M. "Andy" Szuwalski
Andy Szuwalski represents clients from large multinational companies to sole inventors in protecting their intellectual property assets through the procurement, analysis, licensing and enforcement of their rights in the U.S. and throughout the world. He is experienced in a broad range of technologies, including:
- Electrical devices, such as analog and digital circuits, semiconductor fabrication, computer software-based systems, wired/wireless communications devices and electric motors
- Electromechanical devices, including product handlers and sorters, and spray systems
- Mechanical devices, such as oil and gas exploration equipment.
Andy is passionate about understanding not only the details of a client’s technology, but also specifics of the client’s business and competition. He knows what drives the development and sale of products incorporating that technology, and advises clients on potential risks and monetization opportunities. Andy’s representation further concerns evaluating the scope of a competitor’s intellectual property rights and assisting clients in challenging the validity and enforceability of the competitor’s IP rights. This includes reexamination or PGR challenges, which offer clients effective alternatives to litigation.
